“Centootto” recounts the fishing community of Mazara del Vallo, Sicily, tied to the tradition of shrimp fishing in the Mediterranean. The routine is disrupted when, on September 1, 2020, 18 crew members from two fishing boats are seized near Libya, held captive by General Khalifa Haftar, and released after 108 days on December 17, 2020. The narrative shares the harrowing experiences of the Medinea crew and the efforts of those on land awaiting and working for the return of their loved ones, portraying a resilient community overcoming a profound crisis.
